TINY ORCHESTRA
With Flo Pfister’s Tiny Orchestra, the name says it all: With just seven musicians, the ensemble creates a rich and deep sound that rivals any orchestra or big band. The music of the jazz ensemble is best described as a web of interwoven voices, all on equal footing. One moment the double bass sings the melody whilst being accompanied by the voice, the next the drums break free over a rhythmic pattern driven by the horns. Unbound by convention, the Tiny Orchestra moves seamlessly between scenic soundscapes, fragmented bebop lines and flowing choral textures. The result is a distinctive and powerful sound that stands out in the Swiss jazz scene.
